Following on from the successes of last years C3IA Polar Challenge Sponsorship, (Chris and his race partner came 3rd ), Chris attempted a totally unsupported 1200 mile walk to the South Pole and back during Dec/Jan to set a new record. While Chris reached the Pole ahead of even the most optimistic estimates, due to delays at the start, he was left with insufficient days remaining to safely attempt the return journey. However, with this experience behind him Chris is more motivated than ever to reach his goal and will be back to Antarctica in 2011 for another full on attempt. Information about this next challenge can be found at www.4wardmotion.co.uk. C3IA will again be taking an active support role and providing assistance where necessary.

The Challenge is to complete the 100km Trailwalker trail, across the South Downs, in under 30 hours in teams of four. Is it tough? Of course. Is it worth it? Absolutely. The teams will be raising money to help people in poverty to make a better life for themselves through the work of Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust.
